Frankfurt - Istanbul - Abu Dhabi

Tempus Gate

Tempus Gate is an independent private credit platform in formation, built on nearly two decades of cross-border institutional experience across Europe, Türkiye and the GCC.

Selective relationships, disciplined judgment and long-term thinking define how Tempus Gate approaches capital across the three regions.

1.

WHY TEMPUS GATE

The name is not incidental.

Tempus. Latin for time. Not urgency. Not speed. Time as discipline: the patience to read a cycle, the precision to recognise a moment within it, and the conviction to act when structure and opportunity converge.

Gate. A threshold, not a barrier. In private credit, selectivity operates on two levels: which transactions are worth structuring, and which partners are worth bringing through. Capital without alignment rarely produces durable outcomes.

Together, Tempus Gate reflects a belief that has shaped nearly two decades of institutional practice across three continents: that enduring outcomes in private credit are rarely the product of capital alone. They emerge when structure meets timing, and when judgment recognises both.

Private credit is a capital design discipline. Tempus Gate is being built across the Frankfurt – Istanbul – Abu Dhabi corridor: relationships cultivated over cycles, market familiarity developed through proximity, and a conviction that structural rigor matters most where complexity is highest.

Erdem Kılıç

Founding Partner

Erdem Kılıç has spent nearly two decades across private credit, private equity and cross-border capital through institutions, cycles and geographies that few practitioners have navigated in combination.

His work has unfolded across European and Turkish private equity, restructuring, special situations and, over the past decade, private credit transactions spanning the GCC, North Africa and Türkiye. These are markets he has observed, written about and worked in through periods of macroeconomic stress and structural change.

He has held senior roles across regulated alternative investment platforms in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), building relationships that span institutional investors, family offices, borrowers and financial intermediaries across the Frankfurt – Istanbul – Abu Dhabi corridor. He holds specialist credentials in private debt and responsible investing, and has been a mentor in private capital for over seventeen years.

Tempus Gate is the culmination of that experience: an attempt to build something independent, selective and durable as private credit becomes a structural feature of how capital moves between Europe, Türkiye and the GCC, rather than an exception to it.

GEOGRAPHY

Three cities.
One corridor.

Tempus Gate is shaped across three distinct financial environments, chosen for what each represents within the architecture of cross-border private credit.

50.11° N · 8.68° E

Frankfurt

Institutional & Structuring Hub

Europe's institutional capital. Frankfurt represents depth, discipline and long-term allocative thinking. It concentrates family offices, insurance capital, pension mandates and private bank relationships with generational depth and long-term orientation.

It is a city that understands patience as a financial virtue, and where trust is built slowly and held carefully.

For Tempus Gate, Frankfurt is the gateway to European institutional capital seeking yield, diversification and exposure to markets where private credit is still structurally underserved.
